Manisha Koirala gears up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Heeramandi”, expressing on Instagram her shift towards valuing collaboration with respected professionals over pursuing roles or city life.

Koirala praised director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, noting their reunion since “Khamoshi” in 1996. She commended his directorial growth and scene perfectionism. Additionally, she enjoyed collaborating with a talented ensemble of women in the production.
Reflecting on her cancer journey, the actor expressed gratitude for her life’s blessings, including a fulfilling career, meaningful roles, esteemed directors, and enduring friendships. She credited divine grace for her second chance after battling cancer and acknowledged the life lessons learned from both highs and lows. Diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012, she also recognized the value of time more deeply.
She further stated, “I no longer crave the top movie roles or city life. I opt to collaborate only with individuals whose work I admire. That’s why when SLB reached out, I understood it was worth temporarily departing from my tranquil life.”
Discussing the joys in her life, Manisha Koirala remarked, “This is the best phase of my life… My days are filled with spending time with my aging parents, exploring nature trails in Nepal, nurturing my lovely garden, caring for my pets, immersing myself in spiritual practices, and perhaps taking on a film role occasionally.”
She remarked, “Equally delightful was collaborating with numerous young, stunning, and skilled women. Each exuded self-assurance, with no inclination towards undermining one another. There were no disputes over lines, space, or appearance. They’ve all portrayed substantial roles in their films, earning the confidence to assert themselves.”
Although the song releases and posters have attracted significant attention, fans eagerly anticipate the entire series.
“Heeramandi” is set to premiere on OTT platforms on May 1st. The cast includes Manisha Koirala alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
