AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT: The much-awaited IPL Qualifier between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad taking place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad was marred by a health issue relating to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. The actor, who came down to Ahmedabad on Monday to support his team, was admitted to KD Hospital on Wednesday after he fell prey to a heat stroke. Yet, he was released from the hospital after being provided with first aid treatment.
Shah Rukh Khan has been in Ahmedabad for the last two days supporting his team KKR in the match. After the game on Tuesday night, he got back to ITC Narmada Hotel in Vastrapur quite late in the night. However, the following morning, his condition worsened and was admitted to KD Hospital as an emergency.
According to the insiders, Shah Rukh Khan has regained his health and is in good condition. Even though he has been cleared to travel, he did not go to Mumbai today as planned but instead chose to stay home and get some rest.
The attack took place when Shah Rukh Khan was in the ITC Narmada Hotel on Monday where the Kolkata team had been put up as soon as they arrived at Ahmedabad. The team was welcomed warmly when they arrived, with Shah Rukh Khan arriving not long after.
Like in the case of Shah Rukh Khan’s health issues, the current heat wave in Ahmedabad is very dangerous and can affect everyone involved in outdoor activities. The actor’s situation has been lessened, but his hospitalization emphasized the necessity of proper hydration and protection from high heat during such temperatures.
They are thankful for the news that has reached them of his recovery and are hopeful for a better future for him and his family. There are also lessons to be learned for player welfare coupled with issues arising from participation in sporting events during excessively high temperatures.
