    Smriti Irani, Union Minister in the Modi government, has been a famous TV actress and has made her entire fortune on her own. She was born on 23 March 1976 in Delhi. Smriti’s career has been amazing and she has proved herself on all platforms. Before involving in politics, Smriti Irani worked as a model and television actress. She gained popularity after playing Tulsi’s character in the popular serial ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. Let us know how the career of this lady has been.

    Early Life of Smriti Irani

    Smriti’s childhood was spent in Delhi and she completed her school at Holy and Child Auxilium School. She did her graduation from the School of Open Learning, at Delhi University. When Smriti Irani was young, her parents called a Priest at home to know the future of their daughters and he said that nothing would happen to the elder girl (Smriti Irani), Smriti challenged them to meet her after 10 years. Later on, she proved them wrong.


    Entry in the TV Industry

    When Smriti grew up, she thought of establishing herself as a model and came to Mumbai. Smriti first participated in the Miss India Pageant Competition and was a finalist. After this, she got a chance to perform in the song ‘Boliyan’ of Mika Singh’s album ‘Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag’. After this, she got a chance to work in the serial ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’.

    Lesser Known Fact

    You will be surprised to know that initially, Ekta Kapoor’s team had rejected Smriti for Tulsi’s role. However, during her rehearsals, a priest came on the set and asked Ekta Kapoor to cast Smriti as the lead actress, according to him this girl would be very lucky for the show and he was right. So Ekta selected Smriti, the rest is recorded in history.


    Political Life

    Smriti Zubin Irani’s political career started in the year 2003 when she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and contested elections from Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency of Delhi. After this, in 2011, she was elected Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat. In the year 2019, the BJP fielded her in the general elections from Amethi against Rahul Gandhi. Smriti Irani destroyed the fort of Congress and defeated Rahul Gandhi in his ancestral stronghold.
