Al-Shifa Hospital Faces Critical Shortages as Violence in Region Continues
at least 21 patients lost their lives at the Al-Shifa hospital since violence in the region erupted in mid-March. Currently, the hospital is treating over 100 patients, but faces critical shortages of water, medicine, and other basic supplies. The WHO emphasized the urgent need for a humanitarian corridor to be established to allow for the delivery of medical aid and personnel into Gaza.
The ongoing violence has resulted in a dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. The destruction of essential infrastructure, including medical facilities, has significantly hampered the ability to provide adequate care for the injured and sick.
